Maple syrup is one of nature's marvels, deliciously
unique, 100% natural sweetener made from
the sap of the sugar maple. For generations
now, "sugar bushes" or maple tree
stands, throughout Southern Quebec have been
tapped every spring when rising temperatures
start the maple sap running after the long
cold winter. The transparent, sweet sap collected
is then boiled down in evaporators until
it has taken on a luminous amber hue and
reached the desired consistency and flavor.
It usually takes 40 liters of sap to produce
just 1 liter of pure maple syrup. |
